Dispatch Representative

Job Description

• Must have 1-2 years of experience in Customer Service environment
• Must be able to communicate clearly over the phone and in person with co-workers. Good listening skills are also mandatory
• Must be able to type 45 WPM
• Have a “thick skin” and be able to handle complaints and unpleasant customers
• Must have a strong orientation towards detail work and be comfortable working on a computer
• Willing to work a flexible schedule and occasional overtime when needed
• Possess a strong work ethic and be able to operate as a team player

Dispatch AM:

• Review and verify delivery paperwork received from drivers
• Track driver equipment (keys, phones, etc.) on a sign in/out sheet
• Work with Routing Department to input data for driver routes
• Receive and prepare sales orders and credits to customer accounts
• Answer emails from sales staff about Route Sales issues6. Work with Buyers on inventory questions
• Assist Customer Service department with delivery related activity, as needed

Dispatch PM:

• Set up and assign equipment (keys, phones, etc.) to drivers
• Print driver tasks
• Enter picker/loader work assignment cards
• Work with Routing Department to input data for driver routes
• Take care of “call off” drivers and assign open routes
• Identify and correct open priced invoices from Open Price report
• Enter after hour orders from email or voicemail
• Take care of miscellaneous tasks before drivers leave the warehouse
• Work with PM Management on inventory questions.
